Join us for a series of Broadway musical themed dance classes, for adults age 18+. Take one or take them all!

Classes are $25 each.
You do not need to come to every class! Register for as many or as few as you would like!
Classes are held at the Verona Area Community Theater Building (103 Lincoln Street, Verona).

The Great Gatsby (Jazz/Musical Theater)

Step into the spotlight and feel the beat! Join us for a thrilling one-afternoon dance class inspired by the musical, The Great Gatsby. This jazz/musical theater-style class will have you moving to dynamic choreography full of energy, rhythm, and flair. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or just want to try something new, all experience levels are welcome!

Moulin Rouge (Musical Theater)

Raise the curtain and dance into the drama! Step into the spotlight for a musical theater dance class inspired by the bold glamour and electric energy of Moulin Rouge! This high-energy class blends jazz and musical theater movement with dynamic choreography full of passion, storytelling, and style. Expect big movement, expressive performance, and plenty of flair, all in a fun, supportive environment. Perfect for all levels, this class is about dancing with confidence, attitude, and a little theatrical sparkle.

Grab your leg warmers and hit the dance floor! Step into a high-energy musical theater dance class inspired by the totally rad music and rom-com charm of The Wedding Singer. This upbeat class blends classic musical theater jazz with big ’80s style, playful storytelling, and feel-good choreography. Expect bold movement, expressive performance, and just the right amount of retro attitude — all in a fun, welcoming environment. Perfect for all levels, this class is about dancing big, having fun, and celebrating the music that makes the ’80s unforgettable.

For dancers 18+
Join us for a beginner/intermediate tap dance class inspired by the fun, flair, and Broadway sparkle of Boop! The Musical. This high-energy class blends classic tap rhythms with musical theater style. Perfect for dancers with some tap experience or adventurous beginners looking to have fun, make noise, and channel a little vintage Broadway charm. Dancers must provide their own tap shoes, but you may also choose to dance in non tap shoes.

The Outsiders (Beginner/

Feel the rhythm. Tell the story. Step into a beginner/intermediate tap class inspired by the driving energy and emotional storytelling of The Outsiders. This class blends strong, rhythmic tap combinations with musical theater style, focusing on clarity, timing, and performance quality. Expect grounded movement, sharp footwork, and choreography that channels intensity, character, and ensemble power. Perfect for dancers with some tap experience or confident beginners ready to dig in, this class is all about making noise, owning the rhythm, and telling a story through your feet. Dancers must provide their own tap shoes, but you may also choose to dance in non tap shoes.

Footloose (Beginner/

Kick off your Sunday shoes and make some noise! Get ready for a beginner/intermediate tap dance class inspired by the high-energy, foot-stomping fun of Footloose. This tap class features upbeat rhythms, driving footwork, and choreography full of energy and attitude. Dancers will focus on clarity, timing, and musicality while learning tap combinations that celebrate movement, momentum, and performance. Perfect for dancers with some tap experience, or confident beginners, this class is all about cutting loose, feeling the rhythm, and letting your feet do the talking. Dancers must provide their own tap shoes, but you may also choose to dance in non tap shoes.
Alexa Schaefer
Alexa is thrilled to be back at VACT this winter, teaching the Youth Dance Performance Workshops and the Broadway Series dance classes. She is currently a resident dancer with Legacy Dinner Theater in Wisconsin Dells. Alexa has been involved with VACT both on stage and behind the scenes since she was 5-years-old. Most recently at VACT, she directed and choreographed Matilda JR. Alexa also choreographs at Monona Grove High School, where she has received Jerry Awards for Outstanding Choreography for her work on Beauty and the Beast and The Wizard of Oz. She also received a Jerry award for her work on VACT’s high school production of Mean Girls. Alexa has years of training in various dance styles, including Jazz, Tap, Musical Theater, Ballet, Contemporary, and more. She can't wait to dance with you this winter!
