Meet Our Summer Class Staff!
Katie Monk
Katie has been working with youth for a few decades through teaching ballet, tap, jazz, yoga, choreography, directing and stage managing shows, as well as leading drama camps. In fact, Katie created and ran VACT’s first summer drama camp program in the early 2000’s, and has enjoyed watching it grow each year into the robust program it is now. As the former Director of the Performing Arts Center for Oregon School District and Drama Club & Tech Club Advisor, Katie was able to share her knowledge and passion for improv, theatre, and drama with her students. Katie has a BA from UW-Madison in Communication Arts-Rhetorical Sciences and Theatre for Youth / Drama in Education. She is currently in the MBA program through the University of Wisconsin Consortium and works in Fintech at TruStage.
Daniel Christian
Daniel has been involved at VACT in productions since he was in grade school! He has worked the past two years at the VACT summer camps and loves helping kids find their voice and learn to sing confidently. He is currently a freshman at UW Madison, studying elementary education, and can’t wait to sing with you!
Sarah Strube
Sarah is very excited to be working at VACT again this summer! She's been dancing since she could walk, and has been involved with VACT for over a decade. Sarah is currently a student at UW Stevens Point where she is studying elementary education. While at school Sarah is still immersed in theater by taking dance classes whenever she can and performing and choreographing for local theater groups in the Stevens Point area. Sarah cannot wait to work with young performers this summer and hopes to create tons of memories!
