Non-Discrimination Policy

VACT does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, color, sex (which includes pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding and medical conditions related thereto), gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, religion and religious creed (including religious dress and grooming practices), disability (mental or physical), medical condition (including genetic information), marital status, age, military and veteran status, ancestry, ethnic or national origin, native language, citizenship, or other characteristics or classifications protected by the law in the administration of its educational or employment policies, scholarships, and other VACT-sponsored programs and activities.

This policy strictly prohibits discrimination against, or the harassment of, any individual or group as referenced above. VACT expects all individuals participating in our programming or providing services (such as Board members, teachers, staff members, artists, volunteers, contractors, and vendors) to uphold the standards described in this policy, whether actively engaged in VACT programs or outside of VACT programs.  Persons violating this policy will be subject to corrective action up to and including discharge from employment, termination of services, or being prohibited from participating in future VACT programs.

It is the responsibility of all people participating in VACT programs to ensure compliance with this policy. Accordingly, anyone who believes they are being harassed or discriminated against, have observed harassment of, or discrimination against, another person in a VACT program, or believe such conduct has occurred, should immediately report the incident to a member of the VACT Board.
