Policies for VACT 2023-24 Season Classes, Camps, and Workshops for Youth and Adults
(August 2023-August 2024)

  • These procedures are subject to change. All updates will be found on this page. (last updated 3/7/24)

VACT Student Grade Participation Policy

  • All workshops, camps, and classes for the 2023-24 season are based on the grade of the participant as of the 2023-24 school year.

  • Workshop, camp, and class participants must register for the workshop/camp/class that aligns with the grade they are in for the 2023-24 school year, regardless of the their experience, interest, age, or scheduling considerations.

  • We will not allow participants to attend a workshop/camp/class higher than the grade they are in for the 2023-24 school year.

  • Please contact Education Directors Sarah Lederer and Emma Vogel at education@vact.org if a participant wishes to attend a workshop/camp/class for a grade lower than the grade they are in for the 2023-24 school year, but there are no exceptions for attending a workshop/camp/class for a higher grade.

Drop off and Pickup Procedures

  • The parking lot will be open during workshops/camps/classes. Participants should wait to be called into the building, which will be indicated with a green square on the front door of the building. The square will be red when participants are not yet allowed to enter.

  • Families should wait in their cars during drop off and pickup.

  • The lobby will closed except for participants and staff. When the participant’s activity is over, participants will be released out of the building.

  • We do not permit families to sit in the lobby as we reserve the lobby space to be used as an additional space for workshops/camps/classes to workshop their projects, for small rehearsals, and for organizing participants coming and going from classes.

2023-24 Workshop/Camp/Class Withdrawal/Refund Policy

  • Workshops/camps/classes with a duration of one-week or more:

    • If a participant withdraws from a workshop/camp/class with a duration of one-week or more, and withdraws 14 days or more before the start of the workshop/camp/class, we will refund the full amount of tuition for the workshop/camp/class.

    • If a participant withdraws from a workshop/camp/class with a duration of one-week or more, and withdraws fewer than 14 days before the start of workshop/camp/class, we will refund 50% of the tuition for the workshop/camp/class..

  • Workshops/camps/classes with a duration of less than one week:

    • For participants registered for a workshop/camp/class with a duration of less than one-week, we will refund the full amount of tuition if the participant withdraws more than 48 hours before the start of the workshop/camp/class.

    • For participants registered for a workshop/camp/class with a duration of less than one-week, no tuition will be refunded if a participant withdraws from the workshop/camp/class less than 48-hours before the start of the workshop/camp/class.

  • We will not refund tuition for a workshop/camp/class once the workshop/camp/class has begun.

  • We cannot keep tuition “on credit” to be used toward a future VACT class or activity.

Additional Policies

Electronic Device Policy: Cell phones and other electronic devices must be turned off and out of sight, unless special arrangements have been made with the education staff (Please contact Education Directors Sarah Lederer and Emma Vogel at education@vact.org to make these arrangements).

Behavior Policy: We expect that participants taking classes at VACT are agreeing to participate in and contribute to a safe, respectful, and collaborative learning environment. While we do not have the capacity to support participants who require one-on-one assistance or attention in order to be a part of class, we are happy to discuss options for families to provide their own additional support for a participant to determine if that will allow a participant to be part of a workshop/camp/class.

VACT Health Safety Procedures

  • VACT does not require that masks be worn inside of our facility, but we will ensure all participants are treated with respect, regardless of their choice to wear, or to not wear, a mask.

  • We highly encourage participants in any VACT activity to stay home if they exhibit symptoms of illness or test positive for COVID, Flu, RSV or any other illness.

  • VACT encourages participants to follow the most updated CDC guidelines, which include returning to your activity once you are feeling better and fever-free for at least 24 hours. In accordance with that guidance, upon return, please consider taking additional precautions for the next five days to avoid getting others sick, such as wearing a well-fitting mask.

We thank all of our VACT participants and families in advance for adhering to our policies.

Participation in VACT programming is contingent on agreeing to the requirements set for each activity. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Education Directors Sarah Lederer and Emma Vogel at education@vact.org.
