DIRECTOR'S NOTES

Someone said, "If you can dream it, you can achieve it."  Theater is truly the collaboration of the dreams of many. VACT is an organization of dreamers and achievers!!
My heartfelt thanks to Missy Holcomb for inviting me to share her vision for "Oliver!" Thanks, also, to the VACT Board of Directors for their vote of confidence; to Dee Baldock, Christine Bodilly, Nancy Coons, Jim Kyle, Marie Skalecke, and David Watts for their creative energy; to Mark Holten, Dale Nickels, and Roger Roethlisberger for their technical know-how; and to the actresses and actors for their indulgence and patience. I am hopeful that all of your dreams for this show have been realized!!
Special thanks to my husband, John, for his endless patience with my "second career" this year, and to my daughter, Maren, for her faith and confidence in me! It is Maren's ability to dream and achieve that inspired me and gave me the courage to take on this exciting endeavor. As a "lifelong learner" I have grown with this experience in ways I didn't dream possible! I hope you enjoy the show!!!

Lynn Berge, Co-Director

The play "Oliver!" has held a special place in my heart since my performance as Mrs. Bedwin in the Beloit Memorial High School production when I was in 10th grade. The music is truly some of the best to come out of Broadway and I'm so glad that VACT decided to give it a go.
VACT has become known for our large casts and working with this group has been great! I have a special fondness for all the children. They really know how to brighten a day.
A show cannot go on without a great staff and this one is no exception. Thank you all for your hard work, superb ideas, and dedication. I'd like to give my personal thanks to my co-director, Lynn Berge, and to my good friend, Dee Baldock, for always keeping me on track and openly offering hugs and support when needed. I'd also like to give special thanks to my family who always remind me that I am loved. Thank you for coming and I hope you enjoy the show!
