DIRECTOR'S NOTES...

It's a simple story about a widow who entertains herself by playing matchmaker. Setting her sights on a handsome, eligible man, she plays the game with aplomb. Dolly is a woman of confidence who refuses to let the proverbial parade pass her by because her true love is gone. In an effort to achieve her goal, she sees herself in the younger Irene and is as elated about Irene's good fortune as she is about her own
Many months in the making (in my mind at least), I am excited to see this show come alive! Everyone has worked so hard and I can't thank them enough. As always, copious praise to Dee for her relentless efforts to make each show better than the last. And to Missy, who not only brought Dolly to life, but dressed everyone on stage in their sunday clothes. But the real accomplishment here is that "it takes a woman" to have 16 waiters high-kicking their way into your hearts.
I hope you are able to lose yourself in the moment, have fun, and just sit back and enjoy...

Jeannie Pitsch
